You matter. Your needs matter. Let's start there.

Hi, I'm Andrea

I'm a therapist in Toronto

I help big-hearted people find more balance in life

Do you have a big-heart?

  • You put others first, and worry if you're a "people-pleaser"

  • You feel the weight of the world on your shoulders

  • You agonize over decisions and their impact

  • Rejection feels life-altering

  • You can't shake seeing people not do the right thing

  • Tears come easily

  • You wish everyone could just get along, but can also relate to snapping when the pressure gets too much

We can agree it's not all sunshine and rainbows being a caring person?Let's work on making your big-heart shine brighter

Therapy That Gets You

Especially If You’re Used to Feeling Misunderstood

No fixing, No judgement - just a time to be curious about yourself and consider what would make you feel "more you"

What's to know about me?

Mainly, I integrate IFS ("parts work", "inner child work") and being a relational therapist. Not many people know what those are yet - so let's talk and I'll show you that there is a way to feel seen

Rapid fire "about me":

  • Un-shaming is my #1

  • Neurodiversity Nerd (I've had to get curious due to my own speculation about myself and ADHD)

  • Queer and queer-affirming

  • Love understanding your references; I get on board with them easily (I.e. a book, song, TV show that you relate to)

  • Avid learner and unlearner

  • Enjoy learning words in other languages that describe hard-to-name emotions

  • Cool Aunt (to human and adopted pet bébés)

  • Often speaking in metaphors

  • I give you options in each session; letting you be in the driver’s seat, while I also guide

  • Encourage a little well-timed humour and silliness

  • Consult my own therapy; making sure I've tried something myself before suggesting it to you

Fees & FAQ

Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length for $180. I also provide prorated sessions, as needed, for 75 minutes or 100 minutes in length.

I am dedicated to equity when it comes to affording therapy. A few of my sessions each week have a therapy fee of $140 for those who need it. Book a consultation here with me to inquire further.

As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) all of my services are exempt from HST. There is no additional tax on top of the numbers you see here.

Yes, a receipt is provided after the session when the transaction is processed online through the secure Jane App system. You may submit the receipt from each appointment to be reimbursed through your extended health benefits.

Insurance plans can cover much of the fees for therapy and sliding scale options may be provided for a select amount of time slots to support your ability to access services. Please ask me for support if you are having trouble submitting a claim.

Checking with your health insurance provider can be a good way to make sure they cover my services as a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist with a Masters of Social Work (MSW, RSW).

Please cancel with at least 48 hours notice. You will be charged the full fee if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice.

Whether you have been to therapy or not, it is normal to feel nervous, especially about a first session. I understand that it takes courage to reach out, and my priority is building your trust by providing a safe atmosphere.

This means, while I ask questions to get to know you, it will always be your choice whether or not to talk about a certain topic. My aim is to help you feel comfortable so that you can get the most out of our time together.

Yes, all of our sessions will be fully confidential, unless I have written permission from you to share information. The only exceptions to confidentiality are:

  1. If I have reason to believe you are in immediate risk to harm yourself or someone else
  2. If a child under 16 years old or someone in a Long Term Care Home is at risk of abuse or neglect
  3. If you report sexual abuse by a Regulated Health Care Professional
  4. If your file or therapist is subpoenaed by court

We can determine this together when we meet for our first session. I am trained to provide both longer-term therapy approaches and short-term approaches.

After a chance to assess your needs and preferences, we can determine if you may prefer short-term sessions in order to complete a goal, or if you may like support for a longer time to work on longstanding challenges.

While I will provide my professional opinion, the frequency and length of time we work together is up to you.

Let's set up a time to chat.

Areas of Focus

My areas of specialty come from 6 years of post-MSW experience, along with my love of reading and going down rabbit holes to develop keen interests. I attended University of Toronto for a Masters of Social Work. If you're looking for a specialist in these areas, we may be a great fit:

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Relationships

  • Depression

  • ADHD*

  • Neurodiversity-affirming

  • Queer-affirming

  • Burnout from work and/or from being misunderstood

  • Sex Therapy (currently in progress of certification with Association of Sex Therapy in Ontario)

  • Grief and Loss

*the commonly known term, but it's not an ideal term, so you may have your own term to describe your uniqueness
